I thought I should share some of the fancy fold cards that I have made in the past few weeks. I like doing different folds because they highlight stamps sets in different ways and it's a great way to incorporate designer series papers.
This is a Diamond Fold card its really simple but looks impressive!
These are the stamp sets, tools and materials I used to create the cards:
Art Gallery stamp set
Floral Gallery Dies
Fine Art Floral DSP
Bumble Bee card stock
Merry Merlot card stock
Merry Merlot Classic Stampin' Ink
Flirty Flamingo Classic Stampin' Write Markers
Merry Merlot Stampin' Write Markers
Bumble Bee Stampin' Write Markers
Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Markers
Bakers Twine
Champagne Rhinestones
Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
Simply Scored
Spritzers
I made four cards and changed out the sentiments for each card:
To make the card cut a piece of A4 in halves length ways (so landscape). I have used Bumble Bee to pop the colours in the DSP. Score at the half way point to fold the card in half. Then remove the right angles on each end ~ I think it was about 5.25cm in from the edge on both sides.
For the front, score down the front of the card from the point at the top of the card to the point at the bottom and fold the card back on itself. This creates the diamond shape which is really a square on the 45 degree angle. The "back" of the card stays flat with the arrow.
On the front folded arrow, mount a square of card 7.4cm squared in the same colour as the base card.(Bumble Bee). I also added a contrasting colour 6.9cm squared in Merry Merlot. I embossed this contrasting card with the Painted Texture Embossing folder. Score this front fold firmly so that the flip front sits nice and flat.
The flowers from the Art Gallery stamp set were stamped using Merry Merlot, Bumble Bee and Mossy Meadow Stampin' Write Markers, inking directly onto the stamp and spritzed with water then stamped on scrap white card. I cut them out with the Floral Gallery Dies. I popped the stamped images up with dimensionals and added some rhinestones and gold and vanilla bakers twine for a touch of glitter!
The sentiment from the same set was stamped in Merry Merlot Classic Stampin' Ink on a scrap of white card. I cut out the mounts with the rectangle dies in the Floral Gallery Dies set.
I lined the inside of the card with white and used one of the extra flowers for decoration. You could leave this blank if you like.
I hope that you like the end product and are inspired to give it a go. I get a lot of my fancy fold ideas from
France Martin who does great YouTube tutorials and Facebook Lives.
Enjoy and I hope you stop by again soon!
